An extensive international career has taken Emilio throughout North and South Americas, Latin America, Europe and Asia. His recordings are featured on the Enharmonic, Centaur, Zephyr, and Lyras labels. He currently records for Klavier as solo cellist, chamber musician, conductor, and composer under the label.

Most recent engagements include soloist with the Classical Symphony Orchestra of Guatemala, The Texas Festival Orchestra, The Texas Festival Chamber Orchestra and the Orquesta de Camara Concerto in Puerto Rico; Barge Music in New York City; concerts at the Casals Festival of Prades, La Musica International Chamber Festival in Sarasota, Flordia, and recital tours throughout Europe and Asia.

At the age of 26, Emilio was appointed to the faculty of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and has since established himself as one of the most sought-after pedagogues in the country. He has been invited to offer courses at the Paris Conservatoire, the Geneva Conservatoire, the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary, Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and Toho Gakuen in Tokyo, Japan.
